An information leaflet is being sent to all households, starting 5th May 2009. If you haven't received yours yet, you can download the DoH leaflet here [PDF file].

Chlamydia screening test

If you are aged under 25, and have an active sex life, we can offer you screening for Chlamydia. This is a common infection and is easily treated. The test is simple and involves a urine test for boys and a simple swab test for girls. Ask you doctor or nurse for screening now!

More information available on our web page here and you can watch the video on You Tube.

Cervical Cancer Jab

The new Cervical Cancer vaccination is available on the NHS for girls aged 17-18. Younger girls will be given the jab at school. The injection is given in three stages:
1. First injection
2. Second injection a month later
3. Third injection 6 months after the first

This is an important vaccination, protecting against many forms of cervical cancer and we strongly recommend it. More information available on this web site.

Appointments for working people

We listened to your opinions and have extended our opening hours to offer appointments for working people. These surgeries are held on alternate Tuesday evenings and Saturday mornings.

In addition, we have extended the length of some of our doctor appointments to 15 minutes. Please ask the receptionist if you want to book one of these special appointments.
