The Doctors

Dr John Fields

Dr Fields graduated from The London Hospital, 1980.

Dr Ruth Livingstone

Dr Livingstone graduated from Southampton in 1979.

Dr Melanie Denton

Dr Denton graduated from Leicester University in 1990.

Dr Hilary Gammell

Dr Gammell graduated from St Thomas' Hospital, London in 1977.

Dr Fields and Dr Livingstone are husband and wife. Dr Denton has 2 young children. Dr Gammell has joined us from Rugby.

The Practice Nurses

Our practice nurses work in the surgery, and deal with minor injuries, dressings, ear syringing, vaccinations, cervical smears, etc. They run Well Man and Well Woman clinics and help look after patients with long term illnesses, including asthma, heart disease and diabetes. They can organise tests for diabetes, blood pressure, cholesterol and many other conditions.

The Receptionists

our friendly reception staff There are 8 receptionists and 1 Practice Manager working at the Little Surgery.

Our receptionists deal with all your queries, give information, make appointments, and organise repeat prescriptions. They are also responsible for the running of the surgery, secretarial and general administrative work.


Mrs Kay Hircock is our practice manager.
Mrs Gail Windsor is our senior receptionist and our deputy practice manager.
Mrs Lynette Naylor is a senior receptionist and our finance manager.
Mrs Christine Frith, Mrs Donna Fowler and Mrs Linda Fenn work in reception and the dispensary.
Mrs Kay Thompson works in reception and runs our immunisation and cervical smear system.
Mrs Angela Kedgley and Mrs Sue Williams work in the reception area.


The District Nurses

These nurses will visit patients who need nursing services in their own homes. Messages for them can be left at the practice.

The Health Visitor

Our health visitor is Mrs Judith Sommers
She provides help, support, and practical advice for young families. She visits children at home and also runs a weekly child health clinic at the Surgery on a Friday afternoon. She is based at Stamford Health Clinic and be contacted between 9:00am and 10:00am by telephoning 01780 762906.

The Midwives

Karen Aldiss and Sarah Bodily are our community midwives. They run an ante-natal clinic every Monday lunch at the surgery and visit women with their new babies at home. The midwives can be contacted through our receptionists.
